01 / FIND YOUR STRETCH OF SAND

One island.
So many shades of blue.

Make beach hopping part of the adventure—or find a favorite and give it the whole afternoon.

THE CLASSIC BEACH DAY

Playa Caracas

Also known as Red Beach, this turquoise-water favorite sits within the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge. A beautiful place to begin exploring the island’s coast.

TIME IN THE WATER

La Chiva

Often called Blue Beach, La Chiva is a favorite for snorkeling and long, unhurried beach days. Bring your mask and leave plenty of time to linger.

SOUTH-COAST EASE

Sun Bay

A sweeping beach on the south side of the island, near Esperanza. Pair an afternoon on the sand with a waterfront meal afterward.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF BEAUTY

Playa Negra

A short trail leads to this distinctive black-sand beach. Go for a scenic walk, the dramatic shoreline, and a different view of Vieques.

For refuge outings, check current access and stick to open roads and marked public areas.
